Christmas Decor

New Patterns

Ndebele Bracelet Pattern, made with seed beads and bicone crystals, using Ndebele herringbone stitch (which is a new stitch for me, I really like how fast it works up.)

Dragonfly Necklace or Pin, made with seed beads, bicone crystals, oval and round beads and oval flat beads, bead embroidery. (I love this one!)

Note from a happy customer from Etsy...

Just wanted you to know your pattern (Fire Polished Cluster Soleless Sandal) was a hit. I wore the sandals on a cruise and lots of complements. I love all your patterns. Lynne

Christmas Decor

Be working on getting all the Christmas decoration out, the beaded tree I made last year, (I think).

Christmas wreath, I made a few years ago. This year I added the beaded silver ribbon curls. Sorry the picture is not that good, it is kind of dark in that room and hard to get a good picture of it.

Jobs

My new job went really good, I believe this week. It is hard getting use to the hours though. I work 12 (midnight) to 8 am. It has been really hard for me to sleep during the day. I was only getting 2 to 4 hours asleep, just because I couldn't sleep anymore. Monday morning when I came home (Monday is the end of the week for me) I took a pain killer pill, I had left over from my last dentist appointment and I slept 7 HOURS!!!! It felt soooooo good. Yes, I am still working at assistant living too.

Well, that was my week. I hope you had a good one.

I was asked by one of the girls that take my beading classes at Heartland Artists Gallery to make her a cross choker that she could wear for her wedding in 2012. I thought I would be make a lot of cross chokers before she found one that she would like but I made two and showed them to her and she liked them and wanted the Holy Cross Choker for herself.

And Cross Choker for her brides maids. I had to make three of these.

Double Cone Necklace

What going on...

A while back I had mention that I had applied for two jobs. Was hoping to get the one that was only 10 minute drive from my house, but never got an interview although I had to fill out tons of paper work. I did get the job that is 45 minutes from my house and last week I spent Mon-Fri driving back and forth to Fort Wayne for 8.5 hour classes, which made it 12 hour days with the drive there and back. So I watched the sunrise every morning on my drive there and the sunset every eve on my drive home. It was a LONG week.

But I passes all my classes and I start my new job tomorrow. I'll be working in a group home. So, please pray for me. I was so glad that when we did the "I'm safe, your safe" class that my partner was an experience employee that was there for refresher class that you have to do every year.

Well that what I've been up to. Hope everything is going well for you and yours.

Cross Stitch Retreat

Hoosier Stitchers Fall Retreat 2011
Thursday night Coleen gave Jodi her "Jodi Bag" for caring her scroll frames in. At the Spring retreat this year. Coleen bought the materials. Coleen I really want one too!!!
Jodi gave me all these pretty, pretty dyed floss and little tote, as a thank you for organizing the retreat.

Thursday night stitching, chatting and laughing.

Thursday night I showed the girls how to make no sew, no knit, no crochet scarves. It was a lot of fun. Everyone brought yarn, that wanted to play and we all shared.

Shirley showing off her scarf.

Picture of the scarves I made.

Friday some went to the House of Stitches and some went out shopping. I gave two classes on Friday one during the day then one at night on how to make tile coasters. Tutorial for coasters.

Janet & Shirley
Picture of a few of the coasters that were made.
Friday I went of a walk at Camp Barbee, here are a few pictures I took.

This was the view from the dining room.

Friday night we had two visitors, Leona and Rhonda. It was good to see you both again. Friday night stitching.

Jodi, met up with her daughter at House of Stitches and they were able to spend some time together. Jodi brought back button bracelets that her daughter is selling to go on a mission trip. Picture of Shirley's blue bracelet and my green bracelet.

Leona, gave me this pretty bracelet. Way-Way back when we were at Rockome Gardens for a Cross Stitch show, Leona won this bracelet as a door prise. I had said how much I liked it and she remember that and gave it to me.

At the retreat the girls gave me this beautiful bag, it has lots of room and pockets in it for my cross stitching. They also gave me a card stuffed with money! Was not expecting that, at all.

Friday night some of the girls tea dyed material. But Coleen was not happy with the results using well water. Saturday they did it again, using bottle water. Picture of Friday's material.

Friday night we played "Dirty Santa" game. Picture of Marcia showing the first bag she had picked. Annette, kept stealing her gift bags.

Coleen or Betty???
This is the bag I won, from Janet. Love the candle "Hometown Candle", I haven't lit it yet, just took the top off and it is in my studio, makes the whole room smell good.

More stitching and laughing.

Shirley and Michelle

Shirley, just too much excitement for one day.

Saturday night I had Natalie come in and she gave us all massages. I tried to stay up to stitch after that, but I just couldn't and went to bed early that night, it was so relaxing.

Show and Tell table, most of them were finished at the retreat.

This is a picture of Marcia's material she dyed Saturday night on the left, on the right is a picture of Al Capone "computer laying" on top of the material. What do you think?

Sunday stitching, just trying to get one more stitch in before we have to go.

We stayed in the Retreat House at Camp Barbee, it was built in 1922 for Al Capone by a man from a Chicago newspaper. Al Capone was known to hang out in the Barbee Hotel, in Leesburg IN. And a story is told of a young boy that delivered food to the house from the local grocery store, that he was to knock on the door, get the money, do not ask questions, do not go in the house.

I had a wonderful time and looking forward to the Spring Retreat. Thanks everyone for getting your deposit in on time, for doing your share of the cooking and the clean up grew was GREAT!

Banana Split Pie

Banana Split Pie done Deb's way
5 or 6 bananas, 1 med can crushed pineapple drained, 1 small box of vanilla pudding (instant), 1 small box of banana cream pudding (instant), 1 large container Cool Whip, 2 packages of graham crackers, 1 small jar of cherries, 1 container of strawberries, bag of coconut, hot fudge and caramel sauce.
Crush two packages of graham crackers. Place one package at a time in a large baggie and roll with rolling pin to crush the crackers. In mixing bowl add the crushed crackers, one stick of butter melted and 2 tablespoons of sugar and mix well. Then pat down in the bottom of pan. I used a large marinating pan that came with a lid. Bake at 350 for 5 to 7 minutes.
Drain pineapple while crust is cooking.
While graham cracker crust is cooling mix pudding. Mix vanilla and banana cream pudding together with 3 cups of milk; mix for two minutes. Set aside.

Next, slice bananas on top of the crust. Place pineapple on top of bananas. Slice strawberries on top of the pineapple. Take pudding and spread over strawberries. Coconut on top of pudding. Dice up cherries and place on top of coconut. Drizzle hot fudge and caramel on top.
Cover with Cool Whip.
When serving drizzle more hot fudge and caramel on each piece.

Have to say it was heavenly delicious!!! Sorry I didn't get a picture of the sliced pieces.

Caught Up

Gees where do I start? It's been a while...New Patterns

All patterns can be purchased at ZaneyMay's.

This is my very first beaded embroidery, it is called Lattice Flower Cuff Bracelet, made with seed beads, jade flower, glass flowers and leaves.

Double Cone Bracelet, made with seed beads, fire polished beads and double cone beads using right angle weave.

Crystal Snowflake Bracelet made with seed beads, bicone crystals and fire polished beads.
Started a Facebook page ZaneyMay. Check it out and it would be great if you "Liked" it.
Also reopened my shop at ArtFire. I decided giving it one month was not fair when I gave Etsy over a year.

Pool Season

It's officially over! This is the first year that I was looking forward to the end of the season. Closed the last pool and took down an above ground pool. The owners of the above ground pool was going south for the winter and they wanted the pool down and out of there before they left. So, I now have an above ground pool that is in storage for Dara and Kayden. Dara and Brandon are talking about buying a house next year. That should be good for a couple of birthdays and Christmas. LOL! While we were waiting for the pool to drain, we went in town to get a cup of hot chocolate and then we went to an antique shop. I have collected milk glass since I was a little girl going to yard sales with my Mom and Grandma C. and I found this set still in the original box! And a few other things.

Charm Necklace

This charm and beads were in the goodie bags from the beading retreat I went to at the end of Sept. I made a cute little necklace with them. I'll be giving this to a friend. Can't say who, she might read this post.

Kayden my sweet grandson, helping me made a cake. He comes over as much as he can and when he gets here, he tells his Mommy to leave.

Halloween

My sister Mary gave me this witch for Halloween. My one and only trick or treater-Kayden or I mean Iron Man

Knitting

My name is Debra and I am not a knitter! I had about 12-15 inches knitted in my shawl and I ripped it all out. Started over and had about 5 inches done and had to rip it out too. It was just too frustrating for me.
So now I am trying crocheting, this is all have have done so far.

Cross Stitching

Still working on Hang Ten by Raise the Roof, just finished another page. I now have 4 pages done and two more pages to go!!!

Well that's about it for me. I hope all is well with you and yours.
Tomorrow I will be leaving for the Hoosier Stitchers Fall Retreat. WooT!
