Some Like It Hot!

Some Like It Hot!
But 107 degrees in the office is a little to much for me. I had to go outside to cool off, it was in the 80's. At the store (Water Wonders -Pools & Spas) we share the building with 3 other shops. Spots Grooming, air conditioner went out so they pipped over to her store from mine and shut off a few of my vents. Wednesday it was up to 93 in the store, so I opened some of the vents, but it didn't help. Friday it got up to 107 in the store and stopped working. Saturday I had Bob put in a window unit. We put it on the side of the building where that street is residential/business, hoping that the city won't have a fit about it. So far so good. :) And they have fixed the AC unit. It doesn't keep up but it is better then nothing.
Stitching
Finished "Take a Bath" by Calico Crossroads.
Also put a few more beads on EarthDancer, but not enough to post a progress picture.
Family Time
Friday after working in the sun all day, as soon as I was home I jumped in the shower. Found Bob, Kayden and Dara in the back yard putting up the trampoline. So, I walked out with the camera, chair and fresh lemonade to drink. They asked if I was going to help and I said that I am going to enjoy this family moment setting here taking pictures. (Wink-Wink)
Friday morning I was getting Kayden dressed and he wanted to ware his Mom's (Dara) t-shirt. I won't let him. Because he was going to the babysitters. So, I thought it was pretty funny when I got home and he had it on.
Dara & Kayden
Bob & Kayden

It was a busy week and weekend. Saturday was my niece's baby shower, Sunday was Bob's side of the family get together and a friend's daughter's open house. I managed to make it to all of them.

Bowling Weekend

MY FLOWERS ARE BLOOMING

We moved into this house last October so, I have no idea what flowers are planted.
The daffodils finally bloomed.
When I was walking out to take a picture of my blooming bush, I found Bob and Kayden playing.
Picture of blooming bush. I don't know what it is called.Friday we (Bob & I) went to Evansville for his bowling tournament.
On the way there, we saw these windmills.
At first it was... look this is so neat, but then there were so many of them and several of them were right up by the road we became AWWW of them. These pictures were taken on the way back home.
For almost 30 miles you could see the windmills.
We were on State Road 41 between Boswell and Kentland Indiana.

Friday night Bob and I were so tired from working all week, we just stayed in our room and rested, after we eat at Red Lobster.
Saturday Bob started bowling, but it didn't start until after 1 our time.
So, I got a lot of stitching in.
Saturday night we all had a lot of fun at the hot tub.

Bob and me.
Bob thought he would jump in the pool after we had been in the hot tub for a while.
You can see on his face how cold the pool was. LMBO!
Here is the bowling team.
Bob, Dave, Don, Larry and Eurrat.
Of course I took my stitching along with me.
I am so close to a finish. If I hadn't drove all the way there and back it would be done. Buckled in for the ride home. Our normal route we would have taken 31 then around Indianapolis to go to Evansville, but we took a different route and I am so glad we did. We had such a good time together. It was so much fun just being Bob & Deb and not Dad & Mom or BobBob & Nanna.
We stopped by this little place call Watermelon Patch on 41 in Oaktown. I pick up some fudge and they had the neatest little gift shop. If I am ever in that area again, I will be stopping!
YOU CAN MAKE THIS STUFF UP
On our 7 hour drive home we made a few stops.
On one of the stops Bob went in to use the restroom and when he walked in the restroom he saw a young boy around 8 or 9 with his pants down and his back to the urinal.
The boy says "Where's the door."
Bob says "Are you poopin? If you're poopin, then you need to go to the stall over there."
The boy says "I think I'll shut the door."
We laugh all the way home on that one.
(Thanks to everyone that stops by. All pictures should be clickable for better viewing.)

Store Front-Water Wonders Pools & Spas

WATER WONDERS
POOLS & SPAS
Last Sunday night the guy that owes the building called and give Bob the keys. I am so happy and excited that he finally has a store front. We have been home base for the last several years and it has lost us a couple of sales. This process started way back in August, that is when we first looked at the store. It is not the best place, but it is what (we think) we can afford.
We started Monday morning cleaning up the store. This is what it looked like when we started.
Kayden is our little helper.
We started with the ceiling tile, painting and replacing. Then we painted all the walls, except for the panel walls, the owner doesn't want us to paint those. Everything has been washed down and moped several times. Bob also started building the check out area and a display area.
There is a large bathroom in the back, where the frig is and a large office where the broom is in the first picture above. The office is full of the owners stuff and he will be moving it out soon.
Last fall I called two different companies to make shirts for the business and no one has every called back. So, we tried making our own. This is one of them. I blocked out the phone number.

STITCHING
No stitching or beading this week, been too busy with the store front and taking care of the house and kids.
ETSY
I was very surprised to see that two of my items had made it to treasury this week and they were done by other shop members that are not in any of the teams that I am in. Which is really nice to see that other shops really like my items. My Crochet Beaded Braided Bracelet, and the Ladybug Ornament Hanging Tuck

Progress

The first picture is the last progress picture of Earthdancer. When I brought her out to do more stitching I found that I had to rip out more stitches from the top of her head. The next picture is what I had ripped out and the progress I made on her. Funny that her hair grew even though she was scalped. Tee-Hee.
Total progress picture. I tried to see when I started stitching her and it was some time either before 2006 or during 2006. In Jan 2007 I restarted on new material, because the material I was stitching on had a small hole in it.

Caught Bob napping with Kayden yesterday.

During the week I worked on my Etsy shop, trying to get better pictures. We had one real sunny day and I redid most of the pictures of the ornaments and jewelry. Also made several pairs of heart and post earrings and added them to the shop too. And I made the jewelry in the picture below. But haven't added them yet. Will add them to the shop when we get another sunny day, the pictures always turn out so much better in the sunlight.

My seed bead order arrived and I continue to work on the beaded Christmas tree. But I didn't order enough beads and run out already. Also placed an order for sterling silver and gold filled wire and earrings to make more of the "Love" pieces.
I found the snowman pattern that I want to stitch for the snowman SAL at ILCS group, next month. I will be stitching "Winter Blues" by Stitchy Kitty, it was a freebie in 2005 . Will be picking out the material and threads soon, so I will be ready to start in January.

Until next Sunday, stay warm, hug your Moms and kiss your babies.

Thanksgiving Week

Kayden on Bob's phone. I still don't let Kayden play with my phone.

Still trying to find places to put everything. I put this up in my bathroom, because the theme is summer and beach.

Then I added all the summer, beach things I could find. So theses pieces were an exchange we had in ILCS a while back.

Yes that is right my bathroom! No one else likes it because it is small. But I love it and I have my own bathroom!!! So, what do you think?
Wednesday morning when I was looking around I found that one of my items from Etsy was in the Treasury!!! What a wonderful surprise.
Thanksgiving we went to my MIL then to my Sister's.
Friday Bob and Kayden put up the tree and I decorated it.
A very busy week for me. I added 24 pillow tucks and 25 hanging tucks to my Etsy shop. And still have a few more to add. I now have 102 items!

End of October

Friday before Halloween Kayden finally paints his pumpkin.

Kayden doesn't like to get his hands messy! LOL!
But it is okay to paint on his foot!
Halloween I had to work, but Dara and Brandon took Kayden out. He was a monkey. They said it was so funny when we walked, the tail would sway back and forth. Wish I could have see it, but they took this picture for me.
Kayden after trick r treating.
Sunday was a beautiful day so we decide to get more yard work done.
DylanKayden
Kayden helps put the leaves on the tarp to bring them up front for pick up.

Bob
And we finially got Kayden's toy put back together.

Video of Kayden riding in the tarp with the leaves.
Video of Kayden riding in the empty tarp, going to get more leaves.

Still dealing with boxes and trying to find the best place to put everything.

Opened an Esty shop, but I am still trying to get it all set up.

A few new toys

Crystal Tree progress..So close to having all the x's in. I still need to collect some of the charms.
Waiting for Dara & Brandon to come home with Kayden, almost killed us. Picture of Bob and Cooper. Bob moved the glider so he could see them coming. LOL! We were calling them every 1/2 an hour to 15 mins after they reached Indianapolis.
Kayden is home!!! Doesn't he look happy!Kayden loves setting on my lap and I love it too. He fells asleep on a regular basis now, just setting with me.Kayden playing bubbles.
My new turtle...Maggie. Dara brought her home for me.
I found out how to tell if the turtles are boys or girls. Myrtle is a boy and Meggie is a girl. Millie was a girl also. Maggie & Myrtle

My new toys are...the Shark steamer, Tri-Fitness Plus HealthStation and a new find Callus Eliminator.

The Shark steamer was in Saturday's mail. Guess what I did Saturday? You got it, I cleaned all the 1st level floors in the house. I love it! Then on Sunday I clean the upstairs floors. Here is my review... The kitchen floor (that is where I started) I went over it four times. I could not believe the stuff it kept picking up. When I through the pad in the washer I was looking it over and I even saw a flea on it and we use frontline on our pets. I then went to the office/craft room, living room and dinning room I removed the area rug and cleaned under them. Then I used the carpet glider and sanitized the rugs. The office, living & dinner rooms are all old hardwood floors and it did good job, also used it on the mop boards. Off to the bathroom, where I found that it didn't want to pick up the cat hair. I don't know why but the cats hang out in this room a lot. Then I did the kitchen floor one more time and it was still getting stuff off the floor. I think the flooring in kitchen is very old. I know it is very ugly. The upstairs is all hardwood too and it did a good job getting the dust bunnies out Dylan's room. My kids are suppose to be cleaning their rooms regularly, but Dylan isn't doing it.

The Tri-Fitness Plus HealthStation measures body weight, body fat, body water and muscle mass. This is what I got for using my points from my bank. I came in Friday's mail, so Saturday morning I stepped on the scales...weight 107.6 (Oh my I haven't lost the 8 pounds I gained last winter!!!). Body fat 23.9 (for women age 40-49 22-30 is optimal). I really thought that one would be a lot better, because of the work I do, the walks I take with Kayden (sometimes 4 a day a mile or more). Body water 55.5 puts me in the optimal range. Basal Metabolic Rate 1178. BMR is the energy (measured in calories) expended by the body, at rest, to maintain normal body functions. Muscle mass 33.6 (normal muscle mass for women is greater then 34%). Again I though my should have read better then it did. Must start working out on the total gym again!!! Then I set it up for Dylan. He is just too skinny. It would only read his weight. Then it would read err, which means his body fat is lower then 5%. Also did Dara's and she had good readings. Bob hasn't tried it yet.

I try once a week I give myself a pedicure (sometimes schedule doesn't let me). My feet have a lot of callus, have as long as I can remember. I use to go get a pedicure, but I didn't feel like they did a good job and that I could do a better job at home. A few weeks ago I found "Callus Eliminator" at Sally's and I love it and am going to see if they sell it in a larger bottle next time I go. I am always amazed at how much comes off.
