Really February!?!

February started normal, boring and cold. I two new pattern to show. Hot Air Balloon Ornament #3, made with seed beads.

And Let's Dance Necklace made with seed beads, fire polished beads and round beads, using right angle weave and netting. First picture is a close up.

Found a new place to sell my patterns Craftsy. They have all kinds of patterns, sewing, quilting, jewelry, crochet, knitting and they do classes there too. Check it out it's really neat.

I did a little crocheting...I made a shrug, well two of them. The first one I made was too small, I followed the pattern for a women's small, but it is a child size. So I made another one. Which you could see the yarn better, it is a cream color with specks of color through out, very pretty. The pattern is a freebie from Bernat. Top picture is from their site.

Then I made a couple of Flowering Vine Scarves by Red Heart, another freebie. I have eleven made, for Christmas gifts for co-workers.

I also made one for Hayley, Dylan's girlfriend.

Cross Stitching...Yes!!! I finished Hang Ten by Raise the Roof Designs!

Sweets...It's been a while, I was sick the beginning of February for about three days I couldn't eat anything, but then I started feeling better and had to have something sweet and I found this recipe Chocolate Berry Pie. Next time I make it I am going to use chocolate melts instead of chocolate chips and raspberries instead of strawberries.

Classes...I did two classes at the gallery, one beading class and one crochet class. The beading class I just had one person sign up, it was my high school teacher, the one that came last month. This time we were making the Little Hearts Bracelet. Class started at 6 it was after 9 and she was only half way done with her bracelet. She couldn't remember what she had just done. I thought I was going to pull my hair out!!! It's just repeating 3 steps over and over again. It's a good thing she was the only one in the class, because I couldn't have helped anyone else.

The crochet class went much better.
Moving...Somewhere between the scarf I made for Hayley and the pie, our landlord told us we had to move out. We only had a contract for one year and never sign another contract, but we were there for almost three years. So, we started looking at everything (in our poor man's price range), for rent, for sale, even apartments. All surrounding towns and even a few up in South Bend, but most of them (in South Bend) were in really bad areas. Just when I was breaking out with that nervous rash I get, February 14, (Valentines Day) we looked at a house that was for sale by owner, just a sign in front of the house, nothing in the paper. Bob found it because he took a different route home from work one night. Feb. 15th we put a down payment on the house and started moving in. I call it my backwards, hillbilly house. ;) It is a modular, but when they set it on the foundation they put it on backwards, so the back of the house faces the road and the front of the house faces the backyard. As you can see in the picture it needs a LOT of WORK! We decided to start with the cheapest rooms (bedrooms).

This is the back of the house that faces the road. When you walk into the door you are in the laundry-kitchen area. The sliding glass door takes you into the dinning room. All the houses I have lived in before the front door is the living room or formal room.

It has the open concept, kitchen, dinning and living room. I love the fireplace. The window with the drywall in front of it, we had to replace before we moved in, it was broken. I have tossed out the ugly light.

Here is our bedroom, it is very small, but we don't watch TV in our bedroom, just sleep. I didn't get a picture before we tore out the walls. The walls were panel, torn up and looking really bad, the doors were broken also. We gutted the walls, ceiling, replaced the window. The window was too big for the room, once you set a bed up you would be in the window, (old window in first pic).

New window and walls, we also replaced the insulation, brought it up to grade and we put insulation between the rooms-sound barrier.

Picture looking into closet, before we put up the drywall in the closet.

After-closet.

When we were hooking up the washer and dryer, we had a few problems. So we torn out a partial wall and a small pantry. The pantry faced the frig and you couldn't open the frig all the way.

As of today our bedroom is painted and I have bought the wood trim, doors, etc for the bedroom and the stain. Once that is up it will be carpet and closet rod and shelf, then we will move our stuff in.
So, I am knee (butt) high in boxes, a lot of things went to storage and my craft stuff is all packed.
I have canceled my next two beading classes for March and April, but will still do the crochet classes. I can pick everything up locally for those classes.
Until next time, hope you and yours are all well and happy.
Can't wait to see what March brings, SPRING!!!

Etsy

My Etsy shop made a small profit this year! Woot-Woot! Not enough to pay me for all the time I spend at it, but it's looking up. Customer appreciation 2011 went to James E. and Susan S. they received a coupon code for 20% off on next purchase at my shop, good until the end of February. Combine they purchased 30 patterns from me in 2011. Top salers for 2011 where Bicone Crystal Bracelet and Crystal Bracelet for a total of 55 sales.

FaceBook

Remember to hook up with me on FaceBook for all my specials and give aways.

Beading Classes

Started doing beading classes again at Heartland Artists Gallery in Plymouth IN. I will be doing one class a month. This is what we did in January, the Snowflake Pin. I forgot my camera at home, so the picture is the one I made. My high school home economics teacher came to my last class! LOL! That was a little strange, me being the teacher and her being the student. She said she didn't remember me, "I must of been a good student" LMBO! But she did remember my sister Barb, said she talked a lot. TEE-HEE! And she signed up for my Feb. class.

Crocheting

Here are a few things I made. For Dara headband and fingerless mittens by Clare. She also has a great Facebook Page.
Beanie hat by Clare and scarf by Vicki Blizzard free pattern at Premier Yarns.

Again I made a beanie for Kayden using the same pattern and the scarf was a freebie from Redheart.

The next four pictures are Flowering Vine Scarf by Whitney Christmas freebie pattern from Redheart. I have made 6 of these scarves so far, they will be for co-workers Christmas 2012. The work up really fast just a little over an hour and one is done.

Two more pairs of fingerless mittens pattern by Clare. Both for me to match the scarves I made for myself. First pair shown is for when it's cold, the second pair is for when it's really cold.

Spending as much times as I can with Kayden, we made play doe and had fun playing with it.

Here are a few of our creations.

And last my not least picture of Kayden after a long day of playing.

Good Bye January...So glad to see January go! Looks like my 2011 luck has ran over to 2012. Hoping that February is much better. How many more days til spring??? Van broke down, just after I pulled into work. It's fixed now, had to borrow a car a few days to get back and forth to work. Was written up at work for passing a med. that was suppose to be held due to Dr visit. It wasn't in the MAR so I passed. I did pass my Med passes and I think that is all the test I have for work, that is until they come up with something new.

Until next time! Live with a happy heart.

Christmas Decor

New Patterns

Ndebele Bracelet Pattern, made with seed beads and bicone crystals, using Ndebele herringbone stitch (which is a new stitch for me, I really like how fast it works up.)

Dragonfly Necklace or Pin, made with seed beads, bicone crystals, oval and round beads and oval flat beads, bead embroidery. (I love this one!)

Note from a happy customer from Etsy...

Just wanted you to know your pattern (Fire Polished Cluster Soleless Sandal) was a hit. I wore the sandals on a cruise and lots of complements. I love all your patterns. Lynne

Christmas Decor

Be working on getting all the Christmas decoration out, the beaded tree I made last year, (I think).

Christmas wreath, I made a few years ago. This year I added the beaded silver ribbon curls. Sorry the picture is not that good, it is kind of dark in that room and hard to get a good picture of it.

Jobs

My new job went really good, I believe this week. It is hard getting use to the hours though. I work 12 (midnight) to 8 am. It has been really hard for me to sleep during the day. I was only getting 2 to 4 hours asleep, just because I couldn't sleep anymore. Monday morning when I came home (Monday is the end of the week for me) I took a pain killer pill, I had left over from my last dentist appointment and I slept 7 HOURS!!!! It felt soooooo good. Yes, I am still working at assistant living too.

Well, that was my week. I hope you had a good one.

I was asked by one of the girls that take my beading classes at Heartland Artists Gallery to make her a cross choker that she could wear for her wedding in 2012. I thought I would be make a lot of cross chokers before she found one that she would like but I made two and showed them to her and she liked them and wanted the Holy Cross Choker for herself.

And Cross Choker for her brides maids. I had to make three of these.

Double Cone Necklace

What going on...

A while back I had mention that I had applied for two jobs. Was hoping to get the one that was only 10 minute drive from my house, but never got an interview although I had to fill out tons of paper work. I did get the job that is 45 minutes from my house and last week I spent Mon-Fri driving back and forth to Fort Wayne for 8.5 hour classes, which made it 12 hour days with the drive there and back. So I watched the sunrise every morning on my drive there and the sunset every eve on my drive home. It was a LONG week.

But I passes all my classes and I start my new job tomorrow. I'll be working in a group home. So, please pray for me. I was so glad that when we did the "I'm safe, your safe" class that my partner was an experience employee that was there for refresher class that you have to do every year.

Well that what I've been up to. Hope everything is going well for you and yours.
