My New Adventure

STITCHING
Kayden's blanket is done! I think from the picture you can see how big it is. As big as Bob who is holding it LOL!
While stitching on his blanket, Kayden liked setting by me and he wanted to be covered up with the blanket while I stitched. A couple of times while I was stitching he would put his finger on the pattern and move it over a little, like he was counting stitching. I wonder where he got that from. Tee-Hee.

After finishing the blanket I stitched the name tag for the ILCS retreat, on my bag.
It has snowed everyday this week! Longing for summer I pulled out a few summer patterns and finished the 3 pictured above.
The pattern is call "Flip Flop Summer Trio" by Pickle Barrel Designs. It got the pattern from one of the ILCS retreats. The material I dyed myself at one of the Hoosier Stitchers retreats.
Still need press the pieces and get the beach ball button. On the last one pictured I changed it from "Flip flop" to Splash and added a charm that I had in my stash.
I think I'll be hanging these in Bob shop. There are are two entrances to the shop. Enter through the main door, to the right is his shop's door and if you go the other way down the hall is another door. There are 3 shops in the building. One is a pet shop and the other is a dog grooming shop. So anyone that is coming in to the other shops will know that we are there too. LOL!
BEADING & ETSY
Also did a little beading this week made two beaded fobs.
Added the red & white one to my shop.

Then I made 4 ID lanyards and I have added the blue, green and red to the shop.
I would like to think everyone that voted for my Star Necklace at Studio Haus blog. I won and she put a link to my shop on her shop's announcements.
Today is the last day of Feb and I am sad to say that I had ZERO sales this week. I can't think of anything different I did this month. Hope next month goes better.
MY NEW ADVENTURE
Friday morning as I was going through my regular computer routine, I found a new post on The InCrowdTeam board. Serena posted that she had a booth space open in her shop in Indianapolis and was offering it to anyone in the group that would be interested. Of course I had to reply and find out all the info I could. We have been chatting back and forth through emails and she sent me pictures of her shop. The picture below is the spot I will be taking over.
I plan to make the trip with all my stuff Wednesday. So I have been working my tail off trying to get everything ready. I had to pull several items from my Etsy shop, get it all tagged. Called all my sisters and my Mom to see if they had anything I could borrow to help set up my table.
So today I will be driving all over Northern Indiana to pick up things to help set up my table.

Store Front-Water Wonders Pools & Spas

WATER WONDERS
POOLS & SPAS
Last Sunday night the guy that owes the building called and give Bob the keys. I am so happy and excited that he finally has a store front. We have been home base for the last several years and it has lost us a couple of sales. This process started way back in August, that is when we first looked at the store. It is not the best place, but it is what (we think) we can afford.
We started Monday morning cleaning up the store. This is what it looked like when we started.
Kayden is our little helper.
We started with the ceiling tile, painting and replacing. Then we painted all the walls, except for the panel walls, the owner doesn't want us to paint those. Everything has been washed down and moped several times. Bob also started building the check out area and a display area.
There is a large bathroom in the back, where the frig is and a large office where the broom is in the first picture above. The office is full of the owners stuff and he will be moving it out soon.
Last fall I called two different companies to make shirts for the business and no one has every called back. So, we tried making our own. This is one of them. I blocked out the phone number.

STITCHING
No stitching or beading this week, been too busy with the store front and taking care of the house and kids.
ETSY
I was very surprised to see that two of my items had made it to treasury this week and they were done by other shop members that are not in any of the teams that I am in. Which is really nice to see that other shops really like my items. My Crochet Beaded Braided Bracelet, and the Ladybug Ornament Hanging Tuck

Framed!!!

STITCHING
Kayden's blanket, so close to a finish. Hope to show the whole blanket next week. Personally, I think the Precious Moments boy's feet are a little strange, but that is how the pattern is. I figured the letter with one space between each letter, but it looks a little funny, because I didn't take in consideration of the curves in the letters and that the "i" dot was pass the letter "c". Oh well, I am sure Kayden will love his blanket anyway. Info on this pattern is in January 19th post.
FRAME
Finally framed a few pieces. This one was a freebie, but I can't find any inforamtion on it.
Romeo and Chicks, by Frankie Buckley, Leisure Arts. I do believe that I stitched on this at two different Hoosier Stitchers' retreats. Started stitching in 2005 or 2006, finished stitching Dec. 2008.
Loves Me...Loves Me Not, Trail Creek Farm. This one is hanging on my love wall. I love "Love and Heart" patterns and I have dedicated two wall's in my bedroom for these pieces.
Crafty Cat, by Margaret Sherry, is now hanging above my sewing and beading area. Finished stitching in Jan. 2009.
Love and Joy Come to You, Coleen give me this pattern at one of the ILCS retreats. It is hanging in the living room. Just after I framed the piece, I walked away to work on another one, turned around and it was gone! Walked in the living room and Kayden was setting on the chair with it on his lap. I asked him, where do you want to hang it and he pointed at the wall above him.
Gingerbread Cottage by Country Cottage Needleworks
Teamwork. I ask Bob "where should I hang this one?" He looked at it and thought about it for a minute and said "in the office". Funny thing is I was think the same thing. So, that is where it will be hanging soon. I don't remember when I started this piece, but it was finished Sept. 2008.
All the frames came from House Of Stitches. But I think I will be calling Shari and her hubby for my next frames.
GIVIEAWAY
Love earrings, if you would like your name in the basket for the giveaway, follow this blog and post a comment here that you are now following or that you already are a follower. I'll post the winner here Feb. 21st.
Well, I think that is about it for the week, not much going on around here. Should have some exciting news next week, about Bob's business.

Rambling

STITCHING
Finished the center of Kayden's blanket. Precious Moments by Gloria & Pat, leaflet "The Lord Giveth PM-20". The little boy with the fist pattern is called "My Love Will Never Let You Go". But Dara didn't want the words stitched on it so I added the dog. The dog is from the pattern called "Fill Your Happy Home With Love" they are in the same leaflet.

Then I started on the bottom of Kayden's blanket. The "M" is huge. I have already used 3 and 1/2 skeins of DMC 3752 on just the "M". Information on this pattern is in January 19th post.

ETSY
Picnic Hanging Tuck and Love Earrings were in two different Treasury's. Then I made by own Treasury, called "A Little Green" and put in the Beaded Ring.

My shop was featured in Huckleberry Bumpkin's Blog. Thanks so much!
GIVEAWAY
Love Earrings! If you would like your name in the basket for the giveaway simply post about it in your blog, twitter, facebook whatever it is that you do and leave a comment here with your post. Winner will be posted here Feb. 21st. Check back next week for another chance to win.

MY WEEK
Monday I touched up the paint in the living room, repainted all the trim and front door and moved everything around and it seems like there is a lot more room.

Wednesday Bob and I took his Mom to the air port she went to Florida for two weeks. This is her first trip out of state since my FIL had died, 4 years ago. After we dropped her off we decided to stop by a bead shop. Arrived a little early and waited for them to open, just a few minutes after they were suppose to be open I walked up to the door, on the door was a small sign that said they were only open on Saturdays now until mid Feb. GGGGRRRRR!!!

Dylan's shoulder is still bothering him so I took him back to the Dr's and they want to give him a shot. He decided to wait a week to see if it gets better.

I did a lot of baking this week made Eclairs, peanut butter cookies, peanut butter balls and no bake cookies. All the recipes can be found in my blog under "baking".

We did our own taxes this year, cost for filling was $30.00. We always had H&R Block do our taxes for years, but last year it cost us over $400.00 we decided to do them ourselves from now on. LOL! Want a big difference!!! Now the waiting.

Kayden is saying more and more words and his favorite game right now is hid the Binky. We will hide his Binky, while he closes his eyes and then when we are done we will give a glue to where it is, like in the living room under a pillow. Then it goes right to it. It's so cute.

Brandon got the job! He had been working at JC Penny's but after the holidays his hours were cut back to about 8 hours a week. So, he started looking for another job. He will be working at Rent A Center and will be getting over 40 hours a week. So, the first thing Brandon does...started calling for apartments. Looks like they (Dara, Kayden and Brandon) will be moving out this summer. So I am trying to prepare myself.
