I Hate Hackers!!!

Hacked

Friday eve I received an email from one of the beading stores I purchase my beads from. The email said that their system had been hacked and the hacker could have stolen credit card information and email information from 220 people. Well, I happen to be one of them. On Aug. 3rd I was in the bank trying to get my money from purchases that were charged to my account that were not mine. On that day they told me that I would get my money back. So, thinking that was over I went on with my life. The day before I received that email, my email was hacked! So anyone that received an email from me PLEASE delete it right away. That night I checked my bank account and two of the purchases that the bank said they were removing and I was getting my money back-they let them go through on Aug. 8th. Saturday morning I went to the bank, to find out that the lobby isn't open on Saturdays, went through the drive through, they couldn't help me and I had to drive to the next town that had a lobby open. So, off I went...this time I was told I had to file a police report before they could do anything. THIS WAS NEVER SAID TO ME THE FIRST TIME, I was HOT! to say the least. So, back to my town to file a police report. By this time all banks are closed, so there was no more I could do. Monday (today) I was there before they opened the lobby, again they assured me that I would get my money back, but it would take up to 3 days!!!

Studio

A few changes to my studio... I now have the pictures of from the ILCS retreat that was in New Jersey and Tennessee. Two of my favorite retreats.

My birthday gift from Bob

Monday my new bead rack arrived, put it together that day and hung up my beads, the only problem is I didn't order enough hooks. I need at least 150 more hooks. I think this will work out much better then the one I bought last year. It started leaning and even through I reinforced it twice it still fall over, right before I bought the new one. Oh the black chair is a new addition from the last update.

Here is a picture of the old one.

Sunday

Was the perfect temp day. Kayden and I had such a good time together.

We even let Myrtle out for most of the day.

Well, that was my week. Hope your week was much better.

The Gentle Rains

Brought in a relief from the humidity. This week the AC if off and the windows are open. One night it was cold, I had to close a few of the windows and put sweats on.

Argos...

Finding out more and more about my little home town from the FaceBook group. Here is a you tube video that one of the members put together. Here is one from a band from Argos. Below is a map of Argos so I found out where Fremont was. Argos was originally called Sidney. You can read about it here, scroll down to History.
This is the same picture I posted last week of Argos in 1920.This is how it looked when my family moved to Argos in the early 70s.
And this is what it looks like today.
This gas station was where I use to fill up my moped. Gas was $1.00 a gallon and I remember everyone having a big fix about the price of gas. I just paid $3.86 yesterday!!!
Argos was build off the railroad. Tracks all around the town. We lived right by the tracks (in the country) for the first 9 years we lived there. Mashed lots of pennies on the tracks, walked the tracks and even brought out fresh lemonade to the railroad works when they were working on the tracks one summer. My week...

Started off with a new salad, it wasn't sure if I was going to like it but I love it and will be making it again and again. Here is the recipe...Vegetable Salad-2 C broccoli, 2 C cauliflower, 1 rib celery sliced, 1 med green or red (I used red) sweet pepper diced, 1/4 C chopped onion. Dressing-1/3 C vegetable old, 1/4 C vinegar, 1/4 C sugar, 1/4 tsp salt, 1 1/2 tsp poppy seed. Combine all vegetables. Combine remaining ingredients in jar with tight fitting lid, shake well and pour over vegetables and toss.
Water Wonders Pools & Spas
Started restoring this pool. We replaced the lines, put in a new return and a new skimmer.
Wed & Thursday

Kayden came over. Thursday we were playing in the sandbox and he said he was making cake and so I started making cake too. Kayden told me my cake was done. I said "Oh good! I'm going to eat it." Kayden said "NO! Nana, it's SAND!" Then he wanted to make a blue cake so we went to the store and bought a white cake mix and added blue food coloring. Kayden saw the birthday candies and wanted to buy them, so I said sure. My birthday is tomorrow so why not.
Friday I only had to work 6 hours. Bob gave me the rest of the day off. So I went and had my nails done, took a nap and cleaned the house. Bob also took me out for lunch and dinner.

Saturday we picked up Kayden. I wanted to take him on a train ride for my birthday, he loves trains. So we went to North Judson train museum. First we went through the gift shop, it also had lots of pictures of old trains and signs, then we went through all the different trains they had there. But we didn't know until we left that there was another building with more trains in it. We will have to check that out next time.
We rode in the caboose there are seats by the top windows.
Thought I would show everyone that is not from the Midwest, just want it looks like around here. Mylene always have beautiful flower fields on her island, well we have corn.
Saturday night Bob took me dancing! It was fun, the band was called 81/89 and that was the music they played. So I actually knew all the song the band played. LOL!

Saturday before we went to the train ride, I met Shari and picked up my frames from her. Her hubby makes the frames and she paints them. Sunday I did the framing.

They are all hanging up now, except for the three winter/Christmas ones, they are in the gift closet.

Sunday I made baby shower gifts. I have a shower to go to next week. I also made a small beaded ornament and will be getting diapers to go with the gifts.

Well, that was my week. Hope you had a good one, until next time.

Argos 1920

I just joined a Facebook group from my home town and someone had put up a picture of what the town looked like in 1920. Argos main street runs North-South and I believe this is a picture looking South. If I go to Argos this week I will try to take my camera with me to get an update picture.

I am working on getting things ready for the Hoosier Stitchers Retreat in Nov, that I am hosting. Thursday night we will be making yarn scarfs. I made several last year and sold some and give a few away as gifts. Picture is of two of the scarfs I made last year and the yarn I bought for this years scarfs.

And of course I ordered more beads.Worked a lot this week and only had Kayden for one day, but we had a blast together.

One morning while I was working I got a phone call from my bank saying that I need to call them. I didn't call the number back because I thought it might be someone trying to get information from me. So as soon as I could I went to the bank and sure enough within two hours someone had my card number and rang up about $1,000.00. The lady printed out a paper with all the charges on it and asked me which ones were mine. There were only two on there from the day before. They removed all the other ones and I got my money back. I just hope that the purchases were on line purchases and the products were not sent out.

Yesterday I was going to order more beads, while working on my order, I realized I didn't have a new card yet, so that will have to wait until I get my new card.

Well, that was my week. Hope you had a great one! Until next time...

Let's have some fun!

Kayden

Has been over several times this week, (Mon, Tue, Wed then he spent the night Sunday night). One time before Dara could get him unbuckled from his car seat, Kayden was asking when he was going to come back.

No it's not raining he just wanted to make sure the umbrella was going to work, so we turned the hose on. LOL!

Took Kayden to the beach we all had a good time. He loved my big float.

Then we went to the park.

More beads I ordered this week.

Let's have some fun-Guess how much I sent on beads the month of July and the person that is the closest will win a kit to make your own bracelet. Must leave comment in blog, click on bracelet to see the pattern and the winner will get to pick the color. Everyone has until Aug. 12, which is my birthday so I thought that would be the best day to end it.
