Leandre's quilt block for her little baby boy. I hope she likes it.
Swedish Butter Cookies
This was a new recipe for me.The picture cracks me up it looks like a turd on the side of the cookie, but it a pecan that didn't get crushed.
Everyone in the house liked them, even Brandon who says he doesn't like pecans.
And Bob said they "melt in your mouth".
Swedish Butter Cookies
1 C butter, soften
1/2 C sugar
1 egg, separated
1 TBS half and half cream
1 tsp vanilla
2 C flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 C finely chopped pecans
Additional chopped pecans
Haved red maraschino cherries
In large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg yolk, cream and vanilla. Combine the flour and baking powder; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in chopped pecans. Roll in 3/4" balls.
In small bowl, beat egg white. Dip balls in egg white, then roll in pecans. Place on ungreased baking sheet and top each ball with a cherry half. Bake 350 for 15 min.
Kayden is 8 months old now. Just starting to crawl finally, but he doesn't really like to crawl. He would rather walk. He loves to walk and is getting really good at walking with just holding one of his hands. I think he will be walking by himself by the time he is 10 months old, just like my two kids did.
For those that don't know Kayden is my grandson.
The other day Kayden was sitting on my lap and we do this thing were we put our foreheads together and I tell him "Grandma loves you, Kayden". After we did that a few times Kayden gave me his first kiss!!! You know the open month kisses that babies do. It was so cute and funny. Dara was a little hurt, because she didn't get his first kiss.
Kayden just had a cookie. Just thought it was a cute picture.

Kayden is sure cute. Cute elephant you did for your friend's quilt block. I'm sure she will love it.
Adorable. Love that cookie face. :)
Just found your blog...wanted to say that I'm quite familiar with Plymouth. My husband used to work at the USDA office in Plymouth out near Pioneer and we lived just outside of Bremen (between Bremen and LaPaz, actually).
Cute pictures of Kayden. And that's a great block for Lenadre.
Oh Debra he has grown so much I cannot believe the little cutie is so mobile and he is just soooooo gorgeous.
