Hoosier Stitchers Retreat

Hoosier Stitchers Spring Retreat
What a ride...When I left the house, I had on my winter coat, it was a bit cold that morning. Stopped at Needle Fever in Indianapolis, I had a gift certificate. I was very good and stuck to my list. Sorry I forgot to take pictures of my purchase. Needed to remember not to take 37 off of 465 because of construction, I decide to take the second route, Liz had posted - to pass 37 and take 67. So I am on 67 looked at Liz's instructions and that was all it say. So I stopped at a shopping center and pulled out my phone for directions and found out that if I stay on 67 it will take be back to 37. Took off my winter coat, it was getting warm. Back on the road and my car started making a funny noise, but then it stopped. Just a few miles away from camp and I passed this...
Ahhh! I made it!
Coleen, complaining about the snack table.

Let the stitching begin! Dying material... Pam, Liz and Coleen

Kitchen Duty...

We all take turns with a meal. The food was great and I came home with about 5 extra pounds.
Shirley & Marsha
More stitching... Anne & Lori

Ana
Some of the dyed material.

This piece Pam dyed and give it to me. Thank you so much I love it. She dyed it in Sour Apple Rite Dye.

The weather was wonderful, wish I would have packed shorts, instead of sweaters and pants.

Tuck Class...

Marsha and Debbie working on their tucks. I gave the class, tutorial in right side bar if you need the how tos.

Pressing material for the tuck.
Cutting and sewing.
Our friendship circle.

Saturday we took our group pictures. A lot of us make sweat shirts with Bobbie G Designs "CrossStitchAholic".

The camp was full, there was a group of church youth and a group from a drama club. The drama group came over to our lodge and was checking out our stitching. They also took these pictures for me with my camera. While taking the pictures we got a surprised from the drama club, they did the official Hooter and Coleen turned into Betty.

Now Betty has a Barney, aren't they cute.

Nancy Lee Spinning!

A few more stitches...

I was very good and only took these things from the free table.

My Stitching...

I completed all the X's in Special Delivery and started back stitching, but the back stitching was driving me crazy. So I pull out a new project, started and completed at the retreat. EEK by Amy, that is all I remember, I put the pattern on the free table. Sorry the picture isn't clear.

Show & Tell

Games...

One of the games we have played at the retreat for years is Dirty Santa. I have to say it was the most memorial Dirty Santa every, we laughed, we cried and we laughed again. We cried when Marie picked a bag that had Cici's mail art kit in it. Cici, was the one that brought her into the group and we lost our loved Cici last year. The Coleen added a twist, when the game was over, we passed the bag 5 to the right then 3 to the left and that was the bag you ended up with. Here is a picture of my goodies, I was very happy.

A better picture of the box, scissor and the needles that Jackie gave us.
Our T-Shirts

This year we had T-shirts made.
The End...

I love seeing everyone again and looking forward to our Fall Retreat.

My ride home...

Made it to 67 stopped at a gas station, took off and before I knew it I was back on 37 so I had to take the detour back to 67. Next stop was the gas station just South of Kokomo, filled up the car and took off. About mid way through Kokomo the car was reading HOT and the dashboard lights started going off and on. So, as soon as I could I got off the road and I was in Bob Evans parking lot. So, I thought I would get something to eat, let the car cool off and then check it out. Called Bob to let him know what was going on. Decided to try to drive it to a service or auto parts store, but after going a block, I decided I better give it up. Pulled into a gas station, called Bob and while I was waiting for him and Kayden to come get me. I caught up on facebook. Thanks everyone that posted links, it gave me something to do. LOL! Bob and Kayden pull in.. Kayden is all smiles, blowing kisses and kicking his feet! He was as excited to see me and I was to see him. Any way Bob checks out the car and the belt is about to fall off. The gas station said we could leave it there over night and that is where my story ends. We will be leaving soon to go get the car.

Well, that was my weekend! Hope you had a great one.
