Hoosier Stitchers Fall Retreat 2011
Thursday night Coleen gave Jodi her "Jodi Bag" for caring her scroll frames in. At the Spring retreat this year. Coleen bought the materials. Coleen I really want one too!!!
Jodi gave me all these pretty, pretty dyed floss and little tote, as a thank you for organizing the retreat.
Thursday night stitching, chatting and laughing.
Thursday night I showed the girls how to make no sew, no knit, no crochet scarves. It was a lot of fun. Everyone brought yarn, that wanted to play and we all shared.
Shirley showing off her scarf.

Picture of the scarves I made.
Friday some went to the House of Stitches and some went out shopping. I gave two classes on Friday one during the day then one at night on how to make tile coasters. Tutorial for coasters.Janet & Shirley
Picture of a few of the coasters that were made.
Friday I went of a walk at Camp Barbee, here are a few pictures I took.

This was the view from the dining room.

Friday night we had two visitors, Leona and Rhonda. It was good to see you both again. Friday night stitching.

Jodi, met up with her daughter at House of Stitches and they were able to spend some time together. Jodi brought back button bracelets that her daughter is selling to go on a mission trip. Picture of Shirley's blue bracelet and my green bracelet.

Leona, gave me this pretty bracelet. Way-Way back when we were at Rockome Gardens for a Cross Stitch show, Leona won this bracelet as a door prise. I had said how much I liked it and she remember that and gave it to me.

At the retreat the girls gave me this beautiful bag, it has lots of room and pockets in it for my cross stitching. They also gave me a card stuffed with money! Was not expecting that, at all.

Friday night some of the girls tea dyed material. But Coleen was not happy with the results using well water. Saturday they did it again, using bottle water. Picture of Friday's material.

Friday night we played "Dirty Santa" game. Picture of Marcia showing the first bag she had picked. Annette, kept stealing her gift bags.

Coleen or Betty???
This is the bag I won, from Janet. Love the candle "Hometown Candle", I haven't lit it yet, just took the top off and it is in my studio, makes the whole room smell good.
More stitching and laughing.

Shirley, just too much excitement for one day.

Shirley, just too much excitement for one day.
Saturday night I had Natalie come in and she gave us all massages. I tried to stay up to stitch after that, but I just couldn't and went to bed early that night, it was so relaxing.
Show and Tell table, most of them were finished at the retreat.

This is a picture of Marcia's material she dyed Saturday night on the left, on the right is a picture of Al Capone "computer laying" on top of the material. What do you think?

Sunday stitching, just trying to get one more stitch in before we have to go.

We stayed in the Retreat House at Camp Barbee, it was built in 1922 for Al Capone by a man from a Chicago newspaper. Al Capone was known to hang out in the Barbee Hotel, in Leesburg IN. And a story is told of a young boy that delivered food to the house from the local grocery store, that he was to knock on the door, get the money, do not ask questions, do not go in the house.

I had a wonderful time and looking forward to the Spring Retreat. Thanks everyone for getting your deposit in on time, for doing your share of the cooking and the clean up grew was GREAT!

It was a great time! Can't wait till the next one. Great Pics!!!
I saw the fabric with Al Capone in FB earlier, and I told my brother about it and showed him the picture, he said it was freaky, lol, lol. Great pictures, I love the scenery. I am glad to hear all the girls had a great time!
Thank you for posting the pictures. I miss you all and am sad that I missed the retreat, but New Hampshire was fun, too. I went to a stitch shop there, but the people I went with were grumpy about it. They have no idea what fun is!
WOW!!! It looks like everyone had a great time. Everyone sure did get a lot of stash. The classes you taught look very interesting. Would love to learn to make those tiles. Thanks for sharing.
